Admissions
Who can apply to the Dutch Section?
Children with a Dutch or Flemish background can be admitted. This means at least one parent is Dutch-speaking or there is a strong connection to Dutch/Flemish culture.
My child doesn't speak French. Is that a problem?
Not at all! More than half of our new students don't speak French upon arrival. The Français Spécial program helps children become fluent in French within one year.
Until what age can my child still enroll?
Children can enroll up to approximately age 14 (4th year of middle school). Français Spécial support is available for all ages.
When should I apply?
For the new school year, we recommend applying before May 1. Mid-year enrollment is possible if space is available.
Education
How many hours of Dutch education do children receive?
Students receive 4-6 hours per week of Dutch language and culture, depending on age. This is in addition to the regular French curriculum.
What diploma do students obtain?
Students obtain the French baccalauréat with Option Internationale Néerlandais (OIB). This is recognized worldwide and provides access to universities in the Netherlands, Belgium, and internationally.
Do children also attend regular French classes?
Yes. Children follow the French curriculum together with French students for most subjects. Only for Dutch and history/geography do they have separate classes.
Practical
What does the Dutch Section cost?
There is an annual contribution for mother tongue education. Exact amounts are communicated during the introductory meeting. Financial support is available.
How do I get to school?
The Lycée International is easily accessible by public transport (RER A, Saint-Germain-en-Laye station) and there are school buses from various municipalities in the region.
Is there after-school care?
